ESSEX — NDP Ethics and Accountability critic Taras Natyshak issued the following statement:
“Doug Ford’s cronyism appointment scandal isn’t over. The minor tinkering posted to a government website late on Friday doesn’t appear to include any measures to prevent the next Ron Taverner-type appointment, or the next 26-year-old lacrosse-playing friend.
If Doug Ford really believed in transparency he would have called back the all-party legislative committee over the five month break to do the work of interviewing his candidates for their jobs. Instead, he shut down any attempts at scrutiny, kept his so-called review secret, and rubber-stamped over two hundred new appointments.
The Premier hasn’t learned a thing from his past mistakes. It’s business as usual for Doug Ford and the friends of his party.”
